REVIEW: Addiction by Amy Lou

Singer-songwriter, Amy Lou has released a few toe tappers in her time. However, her new single, ‘Addiction’ may be the grooviest one yet. The tune will have your hands clapping and your toe tapping. Get you’re alarm clocks set for midnight for another tune from Amy Lou.

The song takes on that usual bright and catchy vibe that Amy Lou has set as an expectation for her growing audience. The song has a superb, funky backbeat that really carries the song to the artists lyrics. Her voice is also something to admire in this song. The strong Scottish accent that shines through Amy Lou’s magnificent voice is one that the country can definitely get behind.

The artist from Dunfermline has released a series of singles and also released her debut album, ‘Her Imagination’ in 2016. ‘Addiction’ is one where you can really see the talent oozing through the female singer. Another unbelievable single added to the Scottish music scene.

Amy Lou spoke about how her family and friends influence her music heavily and gives her another reason to continue writing and producing brilliant tunes.

She said: “Addiction is a point-blank love song. It’s written about my amazing girlfriend who has a slight love of EDM and Rave music.

“Her family is still very involved in the local rave scene, which is built around a very prevalent dance hall in our local town. This has seen underground raves kick off since the 90s. With ‘Addiction’ I wanted to dip some electric music into my love of indie guitar music.”

With the introduction of ‘Addiction’ this Friday it sets up to a brilliant day for new music in Scotland. You can catch Amy Lou for a sing song on her Scottish tour as she takes on Glasgow, Edinburgh and her hometown, Dunfermline. Tickets available via https://linktr.ee/not_you_amy_lou.
