REVIEW: Dark Days by Gerry Cinnamon

Gerry Cinnamon has yet again dropped another new single ahead of his UK arena tour. He has teased the public by playing it on his last tour and also releasing a small clip of it on his twitter. The sing is called ‘Dark Days’ and again has went down brilliantly with the fans.

‘Dark Days‘ takes on that usual Gerry Cinnamon Scottish sound with the excellent acoustic guitar work and hometown lyrics. The overall song is fantastic with the artists voice to the harmonica which makes the standout. Including the harmonica in yet another song it really does give him that bit of edge due to very few songs nowadays including the harmonica.

As the Glasgow singer releases more and more songs, the one thing the listeners have noticed is his voice. His voice continues to get better and better but still manages to maintain that Scottish accent that everyone loves.

The backing track to ‘Dark Days‘ is great and sets the tone for another catchy Gerry Cinnamon tune. The short and catchy song only lasts two minutes and 55 seconds but you will be wishing it lasted longer when hearing the lyrics.

The lyrics go, “These are dark days, but I heard that there’s an easier way”

The lyrics to the song are brilliant and gives the listener different ways to look and relate to the song. With the release of the new tune right before Gerry’s biggest tour to date, it presents his loyal supporters one more song to learn.

With now having three new songs, it is starting to get close to the songwriters second album.

He said: I can’t stop writing; I just want everything out. I’m building a studio; I want that up and running by the end of the year. As soon as it’s ready, man, I don’t know. Whenever it’s ready.”

He didn’t need any invitation to find his rhythm again with his new tunes and kicking off his tour. ‘Dark Days’ again shows the power of the Scottish Music Scene and also the progressive rise of Gerry Cinnamon.
