REVIEW: Haze by Web

Web have now released their long coming first single, ‘Haze’. The song takes on a recognisable sound which most Scottish music lovers will know.

Ex-View, bass guitarist, Kieran Webster provides the vocals to this catchy tune which sees that similar View vibe shine through. However, you can definitely hear the change the band are trying to take.

There is no challenging Kieran Webster’s song-writing skills as he wrote majority of The Views material, and he hasn’t lost it. The evidence being this new single. ‘Haze’ gives off an easy listen but one that will have you buzzing for any new releases from the group. The voice of Webster presents such a raw but ageless sound. ‘Haze’ is definitely one for your playlist.

In such a short space of time, Web have came pretty far with only one released record. Playing the Tenement Trail festival and also supporting The Libertines back in their hometown, Dundee. However, now having their first single out, it will be interesting to see what the future holds for this upcoming band.

A nice addition to the single is the fact it has a B-side. The tunes B-side is mixed by another popular Dundee band, Beta Waves. This gives the listeners something different to try while also capturing both bands sensational talents.
