REVIEW: Vari by The Lutras

Updated: Oct 19, 2019

The Lutras are back with a new single and it has gone down magnificently with their loyal fan base. This single is just one out of three the band have released on all streaming platforms, but the boys potential continues to rise.

The tune starts off with a loud, “WOOO” followed by a lovely smooth melody. The band have now totaled up 100,000 streams and a new single was due after hitting such a large number.

With the new track coming out, it leaves the fans even more excited for the groups sold-out UK tour. ‘Vari’ is similar to ‘Run & Hide’, their first release in terms of keeping to that indie style. It isn’t too loud or heavy for the viewers which provides an easy listen, but one that will have you dancing.

The tune is one of many to be released recently within the indie scene. However, this one stands out due to its delicate guitar work combined with a rigid and creative rhythm.

The Lutras will appeal to the fans of Oasis, Kasabian or bands closer to home such as The Snuts or Vida.  As more and more time goes on, the band seem to be gaining more confidence and this shines through the song.

With the arrival of ‘Vari’ finally hitting all streaming platforms, it also comes with a small song on the side. A tune called, ‘Times We Had’ which only has a piano behind it in terms of instruments. The stunning voice of front-man, Ben Clements really makes the song what it is. A nice slow song that goes well with ‘Vari’.

The band include one Scottish date on their UK tour which is, Sneaky Petes in Edinburgh. However, they are also playing in Dundee for revolver 001 which is a mini festival which still has tickets available via https://www.skiddle.com/whats-on/Dundee/Beat-Generator-Live/Revolver-001/13637716/ .

Scotland again shows its musical talent again thanks to The Lutras. What a fantastic way to start October!
