Gerry Cinnamon took on his final English date on his 2019 UK tour as he played in-front of a sold-out Utilita Arena in Newcastle.
With this being the last gig in English soil before the artist plays his three dates in Scotland, the crowd wanted to give him one last taste of the atmosphere they have to offer and that’s exactly what they did.
As the Castlemilk singer joined the stage, the crowd erupted. Chants of “Gerry Cinnamon, Cinnamon, Gerry Cinnamon, nanananana” rang out throughout the arena. As he played his set-list starter, 'Lullaby', it set the tone for the rest of the night.
With a sold-out Geordie crowd looking to sing their hearts out and dance the night away, Gerry Cinnamon certainly knows to start a party with playing his classic tunes along with some new ones.
Last week, the artist announced he would play in front of 50,000 people at Hampden Park. Along with this he announced his new album, ‘The Bonny’ will be released in April.
With already released songs such as ‘Canter’, ‘Dark Days‘ and ‘Sun Queen‘ that will all feature on the new album. The singer made sure to include all three tunes on the set-list which was much to the fans delight.
Playing a lot from his debut album, ‘Erratic Cinematic‘, was exactly what the fans wanted. Songs such as, ‘Sometimes’, ‘Belter‘ and 'Canter' were real highlights of the night. However, the introduction to Gerry’s new tune, ‘Bonny’ which has only been sang a handful of times by the singer was something special.
The ending of the show was again a superb way to send the supporters home happy. With two songs to go on the growing set-list of Gerry Cinnamon, there was only two songs that were on the crowd’s minds and Gerry didn’t disappoint. As the whistles of ‘Diamonds in the mud‘ came from the artists mouth, the place went crazy. A special song, for a special crowd.
However, the last song of the night was the one that really got the crowd going. Gerry’s Cinnamons well known cover off ‘Discoland‘ was one that seen the fans go mental one last time.
A stunning ending to another Gerry Cinnamon trademark gig.
