UNMISSABLE: Spyres

New upcoming band, Spyres have been causing major hysteria amongst the Glasgow music scene with their two unbelievable singles, ‘Otherside’ and their most recent tune, ‘Fake ID’. The young group have taken the popularity in their stride since supporting The Snuts on their Scottish tour at Motherwell concert hall.

The group have that familiar Glasgow music sound with a quick punk-rock vibe which shines through both of their singles. The band released their first single, ‘Otherside’ on the 26th of July which took off massively. The song now has over 100,000 streams on Spotify and has had radio play from all over the world. The hard-hitting tune shows the bands personality and sound from the word go. The lyrics are great and goes into the hard reality of life.

“This place is oh so pretty for many but it feels so ordinary it scares me…”

Spyres haven’t been going unnoticed amongst the Music Scene. So far they have been announced as the support for The Snuts, Lauran Hibberd, Baby Strange, Nothing but thieves and The Jesus and Mary Chain. Some pretty big names in there, however, it isn’t just supporting the band are doing. The festival life is next on the agenda for Spyres with already playing Hop Scotch festival, they have now been announced to play Live at Leeds, Hit The North festival and also Tenement TV’s Discover tour.

The biggest festival to date that the Glasgow based band have joined is Glasgow’s very own TRNSMT Festival. Spyres will play the Saturday date which includes names such as Liam Gallagher, Foals, AJ Tracy and much more. TRNSMT has seen the power of the Scottish Music scene that sees artists like Spyres join the likes of Gallus, Rascalton, Dylan John Thomas, which are only a few names of the upcoming Scottish acts that play at Glasgow Green this year.

It’s no shock that popular record label, 7 west studios jumped at this new outstanding group of teenagers. Spyres recorded their newest single, ‘Fake ID’ at 7 West studios which sees them follow folk like Gerry Cinnamon, Baby Strange, The Dunts, Declan Welsh and the decedent west and many more popular Scottish artists.

Catch this band in the early stages of their career if you can because the future looks bright for young Spyres.
